Eric Dwyer has been our Youth Minister since March 1, 2008. He came to serve with us immediately after he graduated from Ozark Christian College, which is located in Joplin, MO. In December of 2008 he married Sarah, who graduated from Ozark Christian College with an Associates Degree in Christian Ministry and has since earned a Bachelors Degree in Human Services from Lincoln Christian University. An Eagle Scout, Eric hails from Topeka, KS and is an avid fan of the KU Jayhawks. He is actively involved in the community, serving in a mentoring capacity with the local schools.

Sarah is from Iowa, but lived many years in the Philippines, where her parents served as missionaries. She is employed by a local bank and serves as a volunteer in our ministry to youth.

They continue their ministry through fostering children in the area.

Children's Ministry Coordinator

Rick Schmeski, Sr.

Rick Schmeski began the role of Children’s Ministry Coordinator at the beginning of 2016.  Rick’s soul is stirred by children needing to know the love of Jesus.  On a recent trip to Cambodia to work with children rescued from slavery, Rick commented on the number of children he came across by saying, “My heart went out to them.  I love kids and kids really love me.”

He is a great mix of fun loving, soft hearted, and Biblically motivated.  While being a big-hearted man, Rick also knows how to train and instruct youth.  He was not only a youth sponsor for many years, but with the help of God and his wife, Jan, he has helped raise three boys into Godly men.

Rick believes a great work can be done not only in the lives of the children God gives us, but also in the heart of their families.  He desires to see healthy and God-honoring homes which will reinforce the lessons and activities they receive at CCMH.  Rick would also like as many people as possible to have the opportunity to be blessed by being a part of ministry to children.

Preacher's Wife

Becky McCoy

Becky is not only a wonderful preacher's wife, but an accomplished pianist with a very nice touch. Her musical ability enhances every worship gathering, especially when she adds vocal harmonies.

Joyce Rhoads

Send Email

Joyce Rhoads began her duties as the church’s part-time secretary in August 2014. She assumes the role that has been filled on a volunteer basis by Arlene Dixon the last four years. The transition in personnel will also mark an expansion of duties and an increase in the number of days our office will be open. Joyce will be in the office four hours every weekday. Her duties will include all the current elements of office management. But she will also publish the weekly bulletin and this monthly newsletter, tasks that have been done by the ministry staff.

Her education was in the field of nutrition and fitness, physical education and child and family studies. Her career in recent years has focused on the administrative duties of a behavioral health concern and a shelter for women and children subjected to domestic violence. Having managed the office with a staff of three ministers and five administrators for a congregation twice our size, Joyce possesses the skills to effectively fulfill the duties. She also has the personality and integrity of character to represent and serve the congregation well. She and her husband, Ken, have been an active part of our church family for many years. We welcome Joyce now as an employee.

Bob Hummitsch

Bob and his wife Judy have recently retired and moved to Mountain Home to be near his mother, Laura Hummitsch, and have been worshipping with us for several months.

Pre-school Education Ministry Coordinator-Volunteer

Judy Truitt

Judy became a Christian right after high school, while dating Don Truitt, one of our elders.  Within 3 months, she was teaching a Sunday morning pre-school class.  Over the years, she has attended and conducted numerous Bible Teacher workshops, taught nursery through high school and adult classes, and supervised Bible School departments from Cradle Roll through Jr. High.  She also taught children’s classes for a MOPS group in Illinois.  The nursery is number one in Judy’s heart though.  She states that there is nothing like having a 6-month old baby in class for a few months and then to hear them say “Bible” for the first time!

She became interested in Cradle Roll after having their first child, who is now 38 years old, and has developed a nursery teaching program for five different congregations since then.  Judy was thrilled to find out that CCMH already had a nursery teaching program in place, and is honored to coordinate all of the teachers and helpers for this.

Judy serves as an Administrative Specialist in Academic Affairs at our local university.  The Truitt’s have two grown Christian children, Kelly and Todd, with equally wonderful spouses, Chris and Kristi, three grandchildren, Macey, Meier, and Taya (& husband Gio), and one great-grandchild, Helio.
